Garden City Friends of Music Membership
Our mission is to support music education and encourage the development of music skills in our children. We welcome new and existing members to renew your membership with a donation of $20. This annual membership campaign is our major fundraiser. In addition to your membership dollars, we would appreciate the contribution of your time to assist us in promoting our district’s outstanding music program. Past contributions have enabled us to supplement music programs in our schools. Some of our past donations include:
- New, high quality Tuba for Garden City High School’s upper level bands, Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble.
- Bass Drum Harness, Fender Bassman replacement, MIDI Keyboard Controller and Drum Line Cases for the Garden City Marching Band.
- Two new high quality Leonardo DiVicenza 1/2 size cellos, one for Stratford School and one for Stewart School Orchestras.
- Five new Tubano drums for Stewart School
- Funding of student achievement awards for elementary, middle and high school
- Friends of Music Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a graduating senior
Additionally, we sell flowers at concerts held in our schools. If you have ever been to a concert or a performance of the Marching Band you know that the music programs in our district are exceptional.
