Patrick Sullivan

Outstanding Achievement in Band

Patrick began playing trumpet in fourth grade. He continued playing throughout Middle School, and had become most active in High School. He has held a trumpet position in the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. James McCrann. He also participated in the Marching Band of four years, and was a section leader in his junior and senior year, performing at venues around the country with the High School. Patrick has taught himself to play bass guitar and currently plays for local rock group, The Goodbye Scene . Most recently, Patrick discovered his vocal talents and participated in the Chamber Choir and vocal Jazz Ensemble during his senior year. Patrick performed the role of Detective Keller in the spring musical “She Loves Me.” Pat will remain active in the music department while attending the University of delaware, and plans on pursuing a career in the music industry.

 

Jane Burke

Outstanding Achievement in Orchestra

Jane has played the violin since she was in the third grade. Among her accomplishments are performing in the All-County Orchestraand the Long Island Strings Festival. Jane was a member of both the Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra under the direction ofMargaret Gulotta, and was a participating member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society while attending Garden City High School. She has tutored many young students around the village and looks forward to studying music and playing violin while attendingBoston College.

 

 

 

Joan Persico

Outstanding Achievement in Vocal Music

Joan has been singing and performing since she was young. She has participated in NYSSMA festivals for both piano and voice and has performed in three All County Choruses in as many years. She has sung under the direction of Mr. Robert Ludwig of the Garden City High School in both the Chamber Choir and the Vocal Jazz Choir for four years. Joan was also a performer for Masquers and her past roles include Ferris UIf in “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,” Ilona Ritter in the past year’s production of “She Loves Me,” and Marion Pavoo in “The Music Man.” She plans to continue performing at SUNY Binghamton, where she is presently attending college.
